Southern Indiana Center for Independent Living

Southern Indiana Center for Independent Living (SICIL) is a not-for-profit organization that advocates for people with disabilities. In-Home Services are offered for those pre-approved through Area 13 and Hoosier Uplands Area on Aging with CHOICE or SSBG grants having SICIL as the provider or through private pay by the customer. We are now accepting preaurthorzied insurance referrals. SICIL offers In-Home Services to people in Southern Indiana.

Respite Care

Respite Care services provide temporary relief to the usual caregiver of an older adult or child with a disability. There are a range of activities that can be included in the plan care that are meant to be flexible and short-term.

Homemaker Services

Homemaker Services offer direct and practical assistance with household tasks and related activities homemaker services assist the older adult or a person with disability who has experienced a loss in the ability to perform the instrumental activiteis of daily living to remain in a clean, safe, healthy home environment.

Homemaker Service can include, but are not limited to cleaning floors and rugs with a broom, mop, or vacuum sweeper, dusting, doing laundry, cleaning in the kitchen, maintaining a clean bathroom, including tub, shower, toilet, and sink, changing linens or making beds, and removing trash from the home. Essential errands may be included such as; paying bills, prescription drug pick-up, or grocery shopping.

Attendant Care

Attendant Care Services are furnished in the client's home and involve hands on assistance for physical dependency needs of older adults or persons with disabilities. Attendant Care Services includes the personal assistance needed in dressing or bathing, oral hygiene, assistance in safety, mobility, and nutrition.
